Unlike the edible version above, we’re talking tech cookies! Here we explain our cookie policy and why they are used.

Why have a Cookie Policy?

Our Tranquil Times Yoga website uses cookies, so must have a cookie policy. GDPR requires that websites have a cookie policy. We also have a corresponding cookie banner to alert visitors of this. With Directive 2009/136/EC, which has come to be known as the Cookie Law, the European Parliament mandated that all countries within the EU must set up relevant laws. These require websites to obtain informed consent before they can store or retrieve information on a visitor’s computer or web-enabled device.

So what are cookies and what do they do?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your machine to help us provide a better experience for you.

In general, we use cookies to:

  • retain your user preferences,
  • store your information for things like shopping carts,
  • and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics.

As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others.

Since the data in cookies doesn’t change, cookies themselves aren’t harmful. They can’t infect computers with viruses or other malware.

However, some cyber attacks can hijack cookies and enable access to your browsing sessions. The danger lies in their ability to track your individuals browsing history.

To disable –

As part of our cookie policy, we must also explain how to disable them. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser.

To change your cookie settings

  2. At the top right, click More. Settings.
