UK FLIGHTS FOR 2024 DIRECT INTO VARNA & BURGAS
From the UK, you can fly direct into Varna (VAR) or Bourgas (BOJ) from various regional airports. Flying time is 3 to 3.5 hours.

Wizz Air – Fly from Luton to Varna various days of the week, or to Burgas.
Balkan Holidays . – Fly into Burgas for the summer season direct from airports all around the UK.
TUI Holidays/Thomson – Fly to Bourgas from Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff or Birmingham.
Easyjet – Fly direct to Bourgas from Manchester or Gatwick.
Ryan Air Fly from Luton or Dublin to Burgas, or from Liverpool, Stanstead, Edinburgh, Bristol or Birmingham into Sofia.
OTHER ROUTES AND AIRLINES
Some of our guests fly into and out of different Bulgarian airports because they want to experience more of the country and/or to get the cheapest available flights. So there’s also Sofia airport and Plovdiv airport to the south. Ryan Air are now offering cheap flights into Sofia from all around Europe.
Fly to Sofia, then take a coach, train or plane to Varna.
Ryan Air – Fly into Plovdiv from London Stanstead.
Bulgaria Air – Operate on average 3 flights per day between Sofia and Varna.
There are daily internal flights from Sofia to Varna operated by Bulgaria Air plus a good network of trains and coaches within the country and down the Black Sea coast to Istanbul. Many guests flying long haul arrive into Varna via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines
TRANSFERS
We’re happy to organise transfers from Varna or Bourgas airport and back and will try where possible to keep costs down by journey sharing with other participants. Alternatively, car hire is available from the airport and is useful if you wish to explore and see more of Bulgaria. Travelling by public transport is also an option – it’s very cheap but will take a little longer.

We can arrange a transfer from Varna to Sadovo and the price is 75 leva/£35/Euro38 for a single trip, or 150 leva/£70/Euro76 return.
Transfers from Bourgas to Sadovo cost 140 leva for a single trip, or 280 leva return (approximately £130/140 Euro).
