How do I find the right Master?
Once you’ve discovered and experienced the magic of Reiki for yourself, you may decide that it’s a holistic therapy you would like to learn for yourself. As there are many Reiki Master Teachers offering Usui Reiki Training Courses worldwide, how do you decide who to train with?
My advice would be to listen to your intuition; someone may be recommended or will just ‘feel’ right to you. You shouldn’t feel under any pressure, or that you are being rushed into something. Your Reiki Master Teacher should ideally belong to an accredited Reiki society or organisation, which has a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice that members will have agreed to abide by. It’s important to check the course content and make sure that a Reiki training manual will be supplied, together with a Certificate and Lineage, which must be traced back to Mikao Usui. The Reiki Master Teacher should also offer ongoing support and mentorship, once the course has ended.
Distance learning or in person?
Distance learning is becoming very popular and can offer you reduced course fees, however a Reiki student really does benefit greatly from direct face to face learning, demonstrations and attunements. To ensure adequate time for ‘hands on’ work, at Tranquil Times we can offer some of the theory modules online, which you can view at your own pace before attending the workshop. Most importantly, I feel it very important that in learning a skill like Reiki, (during practical sessions), numbers of students are limited, therefore classes are kept small with 2 – 4 students trained at any one time. Accordingly, if you choose to do your training in a retreat environment, you will also find this very beneficial.
In addition it’s also possible to do Reiki refresher training, for all 4 levels of Reiki at a reduced rate. These courses are available to ALL no matter when or where you have received your training. 1st Degree - Beginners level
The Reiki Level 1 training course is the beginning of your life long journey with the wonderful healing energy known as Usui Reiki.
The Japanese word ‘Rei Ki’ means Universal Energy and during this foundation course you will learn how to connect to that energy, an energy we all possess and are surrounded by as is everything on earth. Through this connection you will learn the value of energy that flows freely and how to achieve that goal.
Ultimately, the Level 1 foundation course is focused on teaching you how to Self-Heal, to heal family, friends as well as your plants and pets and it will be my honour to be your guide on these first steps of your journey.
The first degree attunement is designed specifically to cleanse the body of toxins and energy blockages and allow the body to vibrate at a higher frequency.

Although we recommend that you have a minimum of 3 months between Reiki Levels 1 and 2 so that you have time to become accustomed to your new energy levels and to practice your new skills, it is possible to combine the two courses to be run back to back over two days.
Combined Reiki Level 1 and 2 – Course fee: £210
2nd Degree - Practitioner level
The Reiki Level 2 course is the next stage of your life long journey with Reiki.
consequently, the Level 2 course is focused on teaching you how to move forward with a more profound and deeper level of energy that comes with the attunement. You are now connected to a more powerful level of healing energy, can begin raising your vibrations and extending your knowledge of healing others and yourself.
As you continue on the you next steps down this life long path, you will learn how to listen to your intuition, find your own way and style and gain new skills to treat yourself and others regardless of where they are.
The Second degree attunement allows the Reiki energy to become more powerful. It is primarily concerned with cleansing of emotional and mental bodies. In other words, you need to be ready to deal with any unresolved mental or emotional issues as they will be presented to you.
After you have completed this course you have qualified to practice professionally and set up a new business or add Reiki treatments to your existing business .
