Indian head massage

Indian head massage - £40

Indian head massage is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders, making it ideal for problems in the upper body. Indian head massage is especially good for relieving tension, stress, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, sinusitis and migraine. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate. The treatment helps increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, frees knots of muscular tension, relaxes connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products. A one hour treatment includes a consultation, treatment of upper back, shoulders, neck, upper arms, scalp and face.

reiki at crown

Reiki & Sound Healing- £40

Reiki is our most popular therapy and can be chosen
standing alone or combined with the power of sound vibration from Tibetan bowls. Providing a holistic treatment to the mind, body and spirit, Reiki's natural healing energy works on every level, not just the physical, but emotional, psychological and spiritual and in doing so, promotes the body's regenerative self healing ability. Reiki goes to the deeper levels of your being, where many illnesses have their origins. It works wherever you need it most, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of harmony and balance. It reinforces your own ability to take responsibility for your life and helps to make the necessary changes in your attitude and lifestyle in order to promote a happier and healthy life. It is a very simple, non intrusive and extremely powerful process. A treatment session lasts approximately 50- 60 mins, the client usually lies down, fully clothed on a treatment couch, or can be seated on a chair. The practitioner gently places her/his hands in various positions over the body. Each position is held for a short time, there is no pressure: making it ideal for treating the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those recovering from surgery.

Aromatherapy massage - £40

If you're feeling stressed, sore and overtired -- in other words, in need of a massage -- but you're not quite in the mood for a strenuous muscle-kneading session, an aromatherapy massage could be perfect. The purpose of an aromatherapy massage is not so much to physically work out all the kinks and sore spots in your body, but to use the restorative properties of essential oils to relax and heal your body and mind. The oils, or essences, are derived from many different aromatic plants, including trees, herbs, flowers and fruit. Many are known for their powerful anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, as well as for their more subtle effects on the mind and emotions. The massage itself lasts about 50 minutes.

reflexology

Reflexology - £35

Reflexology, otherwise known as Zone Therapy, uses trigger points on the feet, and sometimes hands or ears to stimulate the client’s own healing mechanisms. Applying appropriate pressure to specific points has a beneficial effect on the organs and person's general health. The science of reflexology dates back to ancient times. Artifacts and paintings from China and Egypt indicate that reflex points on the feet were used to promote good health as far back as 4,000 B.C. Modern day reflexology is based on the work published by the American physician Dr. William Fitzgerald in 1915. Dr Fitzgerald demonstrated how pressure applied to one part of the body could anaesthetize another part. During the mid-1900s, Eunice Ingham (a physiotherapist) extended and developed Fitzgerald’s work and created the reflex zone maps that are used today. The treatment lasts 45 minutes.

back massage

Classical Swedish Massage - £40

Classical Swedish Massage is the “original” western style massage and is the foundation for other western massage techniques. One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body, whereas Deep Tissue Massage targets the inner layers of your muscles, tendons, and fascia (dense connective tissue). The health benefits of regular full-body Swedish massage are plentiful. Benefits include increased circulation, lowered blood pressure, improved immune function and reversal of the effects of stress. Swedish style massage uses long strokes, kneading and friction with the primary purpose of increasing circulation and promoting relaxation. Pressure can be light to firm, but is not as detailed as Deep Tissue Massage. It’s important to remember, that deeper isn’t always better. Sometimes what the body needs is to simply relax and de-stress so it can heal itself. This massage lasts 1hr or can be extended to 90 minutes.

massage

Deep Tissue Massage - £40 for 1hr

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on stretching fascia- a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that surrounds, supports and penetrates all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. Deep tissue massage works layer by layer through connective tissue and muscles down to the deepest accessible layers to change posture and create freedom of movement by releasing facial adhesions and chronic muscle contracture. Adhesions and scar tissue form in muscles because of injury, chronic poor posture, chronic or acute inflammation and repetitive motions. Deep Tissue Massage also has incredible health benefits. The release of habitually tight muscles relieves chronic pain and speeds the healing of injuries. Balanced posture improves organ function and athletic performance. Overall, it relieves the stress and energy drain of chronically tight muscles improving general health and well-being for long term wellness.
